From Small Town to Storey Lane

I didn’t plan for life to flip upside down—but when it did, I answered back with grit.

At 40, everything I thought was stable came undone. The kind of life shift that shakes you to your core. But here’s what I realized: no one’s coming to save you—and that’s your power.

After nearly 15 years as a first-grade teacher, following the “safe path,” I knew deep down I was built for more. Not louder. Not flashier. Just

more intentional, more impactful, more mine. So I made the boldest move of my life: I walked away and bet on myself.

No roadmap. No backup plan. Just faith, a relentless work ethic, and the belief that I could rebuild something better.

Breaking Through & Building Bigger

I started in roofing sales—an industry where women aren’t always seen, let alone expected to lead. But I didn’t come to be underestimated. I came to rise.

Under the mentorship of DeVore Capital’s Scott DeVore and Wes Deason, I didn’t just learn how to sell—I learned how to lead. How to negotiate. How to move like a CEO before I ever had the title. That’s when it clicked:

I wasn’t meant to fit into a business. I was meant to build one.

The name honors my father, Roger Storey whose legacy walks with me in every room I enter. I took the lane life gave me and turned it into my own. And now, I help others do the same.
